SAVAGE
“An urgent, propulsive work, relentless in its intensity from beginning to end.”
An urgent piece of dance theatre about who gets to be welcome on country.
History is often told by the victor – but the truth is often more complicated than that. Questioning our blind obedience and belief in the truths and lies at the core of Australian history, SAVAGE is a razor-sharp work that explores the violence that is perpetrated and re-perpetrated by a nation’s wilful ignorance of its past.
Working with leading dramaturg Kate Champion, artist Dean Cross (Worimi), lighting designer Matthew Adey and composer James Howard (Jaadwa), SAVAGE is an uncompromising work that pulses with subversion and rebellion – a call to action to remember and stand united in the face of erasure.
