Harrison Elliott

Dancer

Harrison Elliott studied dance at The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts from 2012-2013. He was a member of STEPS Youth Dance Company for 8 years, choreographing his first public work for the season of Compact Dance (2011), and toured internationally with the company for the Dance and the Child International Conference held in Taiwan (2012).

In 2014 Harrison worked extensively with Buzz Dance Theatre Company, under artistic direction of Lucas Jervies, facilitating educational workshops in remote Indigenous communities in the Pilbara-region, and performing in shows such as ECOBOTS and Plain Jane.

Harrison has performed in the Perth International Arts Festival with Barking Gecko Theatre Company’s Driving Into Walls (2012) and OneFiveZeroSeven (2014) directed by John Sheedy and choreographed by Danielle Micich, and most recently the English National Opera’s Madama Butterfly (2015).

Harrison has also trained in circus aerial silks as well as parkour and free running. He has worked with various Australian and international choreographers such as Shona Erskine, Alice Lee Holland, Isabella Stone, Laura Boynes, Tyrone Robinson, Kynan Hughes, James O’Hara, Anton Anton, Brooke Leeder, Kathleen Szalay, Emily Bowman, Rachel Arianne Ogle and Ruth Osborne.

Harrison spent 2016 working with Sydney-based dance theatre company Force Majeure, under the artistic direction of Danielle Micich. In January 2017 he joined Australian Dance Theatre as a company dancer. Harrison made his debut to ADT in Garry Stewart’s Doppleganger, which was featured as part of the Art Gallery of South Australia’s Versus Rodin: bodies across space and time. In May 2017 Harrison was a featured choreographer as part of ADT’s Rough Draft program. He joins the company on tour for the Melbourne premiere season of Be Your Self, followed by a national tour of Be Your Self Redux to Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales.

In 2018, Harrison performed in the Australian national tour of The Beginning of Nature, across SA, NT, WA, NSW and TAS and international tour throughout Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium.
