Proximity Interactive invites you to shape space using your own body. Performed initially by Australian Dance Theatre in the full work Proximity, this interactive installation was created by Artistic Director Garry Stewart, with video effects developed by French video engineer Thomas Pachoud.
Real-time video effects position you, the viewer, as the active participant – wilfully generating a world of magical effects and drawing the movement of your bodies in space. The negative space between viewers is materialised, expanding and contracting as we occupy the room. Participation is at the core of this project and through this work we are encouraged to BE – both in our bodies and in the world.
