The Beginning of Nature world premiere seasonTuesday, March 15, 2016
Last night the company closed its season of The Beginning of Nature at WOMADelaide Festival 2016. Performing to audiences of more than 8,000, the response was incredible and we look forward to presenting full theatrical development of The Beginning of Nature in 2017.
The beautifully mesmerising score by Brendan Woithe, was performed live by the Zephyr Quartet and vocalists Shauntai Batzke and Vonda Last, to an enthralled audience.
ADT would like to thank our Indigenous Language consultant, Jack Buckskin, as well as Lee-Ann Buckskin and Elder Uncle Lewis O’Brien, for their support in developing the language component of the performance.
Some media reactions:
“This is a powerful work, in which music, movement and design make a coherent whole, and it drew a rapturous reception from the spellbound crowd” – Maggie Tonkin, Dance Australia
“their performance stole the day” – Ray Smith, Broadway World
