On the eve of embarking on the national tour of the globally acclaimed G, Australian Dance Theatre has kicked off the countdown to the 50th anniversary at an exclusive reception held at Government House, Adelaide where founding Artistic Director, Dr Elizabeth Cameron Dalman OAM was announced as 50th Anniversary Patron.
Announced by His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR, Dalman was thrilled to accept the honour of Patron for the anniversary celebrations, given her ties to the dance company at its inception in 1965.
“I am delighted to be involved with these festivities. It is not only significant to me personally, but to all of Australia. This milestone anniversary marks the success of one of the country’s longest and most enduring artistic companies, which in turn firmly establishes contemporary dance as a truly inspiring and accepted modern art form,” she said.
More anniversary announcements will be made as they become available in the lead up to 2015.
