The Beginning of Nature in Virtual Reality - download the appFriday, March 11, 2016
To accompany the world premiere of The Beginning of Nature, ADT has collaborated with Adelaide technology companies Sandpit and Jumpgate to create a virtual reality experience.
Viewed through an ingenious app, coupled with Google cardboard technology, allowing the user to experience the dancers performing choreography from The Beginning of Nature filmed in 3 stunning natural locations in South Australia in 360 degrees.
Composed by Brendan Woite, The Beginning of Nature’s score is performed on stage by the Zephyr Quartet and features Kaurna language sung by indigenous classical singers Vonda Last and Shauntai Batzke. The Kaurna language will also be featured in the virtual reality scenes – showing English translations.
The Kaurna words have been chosen by The Beginning of Nature’s Indigenous language consultant, Jack Buckskin.
Available for free on the App Store (for iPhone) or Google Play (for Android). Ensure you are on wifi, then head to ADT.org.au/VR.
This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body, and through the Department of Communications and the Arts’ Indigenous Languages and Arts program.
