Kimball was born in New Zealand. He moved with his family to the UK. when he was three years old, settling in Cambridge. He went on to study A levels in Performing Arts and Dance.
Kimball continued his training Millennium Dance 2000, completing a three year diploma in Performing Arts in 2001. Since leaving college Kimball has performed with Michael Clark Co. for the production would, should, could, can, did, the tour of Oh My Goddess and the premiere season of I Do.
He also worked with the English National Opera for a season of Eugene Onegin. He joined Phoenix Dance Theatre for two years, working with artistic directors Darshan Singh Bhuller and Javier de Frutos.
Kimball joined ADT in December 2007, making his debut with the company in the premiere of G at the 2008 Adelaide Bank Festival of Arts. In 2008 Kimball choreographed his first Ignition work titled The Third Floor and toured through Europe as part of G. He performed at the 2009 Sydney Festival's First Night Movers & Shakers (choreographed by Garry Stewart) and was in The Tighter You Squeeze by ADT guest choreographer Lina Limosani. Kimball chorographed Arabesque for the Ignition 2010 season and will be part of the European tour of Be Your Self in 2011.
