Born in Wiltshire, UK, Kialea started dancing at Swindon Dance and continued her schooling at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance. During her training she was asked to perform as a guest artist with Phoenix Dance Company under director Thea Barnes.
After graduating from the Rambert School in 2002, Kialea joined Phoenix Dance Theatre under directors Darshan Singh Bhuller and Javier de Frutos. During the five years she worked with the company she performed throughout the U.K. and the world.
Kialea has also worked with international choreographers such as Robert Cohan (Forest, Rui Horta, Can You See Me?) and Didi Veldman (See Blue Through). She also worked on Jane Dudley's Harmonica Breakdown which was rehearsed by Sheron Wray and performed throughout the UK. She has also been involved in the the 2006 and 2006 RODA projects, working with emerging choreographers.
She joined Michael Clark Co, performing I Do – a work from the Stravinsky Project at the Barbican Theatre in London in 2007.
A day before arriving in Australia to join ADT, Kialea won the highly prestigious National Critic Circle's Award for Best Modern Female Dancer 2007 (UK) for her performance of Harmonica Breakdown with Phoenix Dance Theatre.
She made her debut with the company in the premiere season of G and created her first Ignition work titled Present Cover which debuted as part of the Ignition 08 season. Kialea will be touring throughout Europe between January to March, 2011 with Garry Stewart's Be Your Self.
