How much does it cost?
Classes are charged at a flat rate of $15 per class. Buy the ADT 'dance card' and get 12 classes for $160. (Sorry - no individual class concession prices are offered.)
What do I wear?
Contemporary, Jazz & Dance Fit classes:
Non-restrictive track pants or tight leggings, t-shirt or sports top. Soft kneepads may be required for the Intermediate/Advanced Contemporary class - the teacher will confirm this during the first class of each block. Sneakers are an option for Dance Fit. Bare feet or socks for contemporary and dance general classes.
Ballet:
If you have canvass ballet flats or cotton socks please wear them. For clothing please wear stretchable clothes similar to what you would wear at the gym. It is better to wear something figure hugging so that the teacher can see your posture / body alignment during class.
Where can I park?
There is limited non-metered street parking in the streets around the Studios.
Is there a bus?
There are many bus services that travel along Belair Road. Please exit at Bus Stop 11 (either side of the road) and visit Adelaide Metro for further information.
If I pay in advance can I get a refund?
Australian Dance Theatre does not refund any money on booked classes. 'Credit' on missed classes can be used on other classes within the same block as the original booking BUT cannot be transferred to another block. Australian Dance Theatre does not replace or refund or take any responsibility for changes in personal circumstances which impact upon attendance. This policy is final and not negotiable under any circumstance. If you do not find this policy acceptable please purchase tickets at the ADT Studios on the evening of class participation.
Is it possible to watch class to see if I like it?
We do not allow any person to watch class from inside the studio due to safety and security reasons and to make classes more comfortable for students and teachers. Any person inside the studio at the time of a class must be participating in that class. 'Come and try' is our policy. In the final week of each block ADT does offer 'bring a NEW friend for free' to any of the classes.
Can I come in early to warm up?
Please be on time for your class as it is important to warm up properly to avoid injury. No student will be allowed in to any class 20 minutes after the class has commenced. If you wish to come 15 minutes early to stretch before your class there is a large foyer at the front of the building you can use. The Dance Class co-ordinator may give you permission to use the studio providing ADT has finished rehearsals for the day and there are no other uses for the studio at the time of the request. Each class includes a warm up and cool down session.
Can I keep my phone on for emergencies?
All mobile phones & paging services must be switched off prior to the commencement of class. If you have special circumstances please discuss with the Dance Class co-ordinator prior to your class.
Can I take pictures or a video of my class?
All photography and filming of all or any part of a class by any recording device is strictly prohibited. Your co-operation with teachers and staff requests will ensure a safe and enjoyable time for all.
What if I loose something?
Take all your valuables in to the studio with you. Please remember to collect all of your belongings after class. Australian Dance Theatre cannot take responsibility for anything left behind in the studio, foyer or any other part of the building. To check on any lost property please talk to the Dance Class co-ordinator.
Will I be notified of any changes?
Australian Dance Theatre will endeavour to notify all participants of any changes to the timetable or teaching staff in advance. However please be aware that occasionally changes will occur with short notice. Please check the notice board for any last minute updates. Australian Dance Theatre reserves the right to change any class for any reason it sees fit.
